Textron in Air Force weapons deal |

WASHINGTON (AFX) - The Air Force said Wednesday it awarded a $92.9 million contract to Textron Inc.Textron will provide the Pentagon with 291 sensor weapons for low-flying tactical aircraft used to achieve multiple hits against enemy armor and support vehicles.When the weapon is released multiple munitions are delivered to hit various targets. The weapon is also equipped with a sensor to detect armored targets.The company will complete the work by March 2009.Shares of Textron gained $1.82 to finish at $93.17 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
