BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) said it will launch a 1.7 mln usd project to develop carbon finance schemes in west China.The three year project aims to provide policy input and capacity building for the expansion of the carbon market in China through pilot sites in 12 provinces, the UNDP said in a statement.The project is a joint effort between the UNDP, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and China International Centre of Economic and Technical Exchange, with financial support from steel maker Arcelor Mittal, the statement added.will.davies@afxasia.com
