PARIS (AFX) - Unions at EADS unit Airbus have sent a joint letter to the French government urging it to increase its stake in the troubled aerospace group to replace private French investors who have announced they are to sell their holdings.French governement should 'live up to its responsibilities as a shareholder in EADS .... and protect the interests of its employees,' the unions said in the letter. The French state currently holds 15 pct of EADS, with a further 15 pct owned by Lagardere, but the media and defence group plans to sell 7.5 pct, reducing the French stake to 22.5 pct.paris@afxnews.comvb/jmsCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
