WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AFX) - CVS Corp. said Thursday its January same-store-sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, jumped 8.6 percent, buoyed by an increase in front store sales.The figure fell just shy of analysts expectations for a 9 percent rise in same-store-sales.The rise came despite the negative impact from recent generic introductions, the company said. Front-end same-store-sales rose 8.2 percent.Total sales rose 24.2 percent to $3/7 billion from $3 billion, the company said.
