SUFFERN, N.Y. (AFX) - Women's apparel retailer Dress Barn Inc. said Thursday its same-store sales, or sales in stores that have been open at least a year, grew 8 percent in January.Total sales for the month were $72.3 million, up 12 percent from $64.5 million last year.For the fiscal second quarter ended Jan. 27, same-store sales increased 5 percent. Net sales for the quarter increased 10 percent to $340.5 million, versus $310.9 million in the year-ago period.Shares of Dress Barn rose 58 cents, or 2.6 percent, to $23.11 in morning trading on the Nasdaq.
