ST PETERSBURG (AFX) - The management at a Russian Ford car factory has signed an agreement with its workers after a brief strike two weeks ago, the carmaker said in a statement.Workers at the factory near St Petersburg went on a 24-hour strike on Feb 14 to demand better pay and social benefits.The agreement, which will last one year, will see 'salaries rise by 14 to 20 pct,' the statement said.Ford also said 'social and financial benefits' would improve, although details were not given.The factory employs some 1,700 workers who earn an average of 17,000 roubles (500 eur) per month.newsdesk@afxnews.comafp/rfw/gpCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
