WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. Air Force on Monday awarded a $23 million contract to Lockheed Martin Corp. for advanced material and low rate production for the C-5M aircraft.The U.S. Air Force is currently upgrading its C-5 aircraft, a large cargo plane used to transport troops and supplies, with new engines and modernized avionics.Shares of Lockheed fell 55 cents to close at $96.14 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
