BRUSSELS (AFX) - The European Commission said it has extended the deadline for its inquiry into Evraz Group SA's proposed acquisition of a 24.9 pct stake in Anglo American's Highveld Steel and Vanadium Corp Ltd until Feb 20.The original deadline was Feb 6.The Commission extends inquiries by ten working days, in cases where a national competition authority has asked for jurisdiction, or where the companies have offered remedies to competition concerns raised during the investigation.nina.chestney@thomson.comnc/nc/jagCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
