Deutsche Bahn buys 321 trains from Bombardier for 1.2 bln eur UPDATE

FRANKFURT (AFX) - Deutsche Bahn AG's is buying 321 new electronic trains from Bombardier Transportation GmbH for 1.2 bln eur, CEO Hartmut Mehdorn said.

In a press release, the rail company said the trains will be in operation in 2009, adding that this was 'one of the largest orders in the industry'.

The entire fleet will be developed and manufactured at Bombardier's German sites, Bombardier said.
