Japan Jan unemployment rate 4.0 pct, unchanged from Dec

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The unemployment rate stood at 4.0 pct in January, unchanged from the revised jobless rate in December, data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed.

The December jobless rate was initially put at 4.1 pct.

Economists were expecting the jobless rate to come in at 4.1 pct.

The male jobless rate fell to 4.1 pct from 4.2 pct in December, while the female unemployment rate increased to 3.8 pct from 3.7 pct, the ministry said.
