FRANKFURT (AFX) - German tour operator TUI AG may sever ties with Condor and LTU following news of a possible merger of the two charter airlines that would dominate Germany's long-haul charter business, a spokesman for the company said.'We would not tolerate a monopoly in the long run,' the spokesman said.Several carriers have stepped up to offer alternatives to the company's partnership with Condor and LTU, the spokesman said, without being more specific.Hanover-based TUI has no immediate plans to change its relationship with the charter airlines, he said.LTU's majority stakeholder Hans Rudolf Woehrl yesterday said his company is in 'concrete' merger talks with KarstadtQuelle AG's and Deutsche Lufthansa AG's Condor airline.newsdesk@afxnews.commas/harCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
