TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The product price condition index for large firms, which measures the number of firms that see selling prices rising less those which expect price declines, showed a mixed trend based on the Bank of Japan's latest Tankan quarterly survey.The BoJ releaed the following results of the price condition index in the March survey, compared with the December poll:Large manufacturers - minus 1 vs zeroLarge basic material producers - plus 16 vs plus 21Large processors - minus 9 vs minus 11Large non-manufacturers - zero vs minus 1Small- and mid-sized manufacturers - minus 4 vs minus 4Small- and mid-sized basic material producers - plus 4 vs plus 6Small- and mid-sized processors - minus 8 vs minus 9Small- and mid-sized non-manufacturers - minus 15 vs minus 14The BoJ also issued the following forecasts for June:Large manufacturers - minus 4Large basic material producers - minus 5Large processors - minus 5Large non-manufacturers - minus 2Small- and mid-sized manufacturers - minus 2Small- and mid-sized basic material producers - minus 2Small- and mid-sized processors - minus 4Small- and mid-sized non-manufacturers - plus 2(1 usd =117.70 yen)yasuhiko.seki@xfn.com
