OSLO (AFX) - Fast Search & Transfer ASA said it is to acquire the assets of the RetrivalWare business unit from US-based Convera Corporation for 23 mln usd in cash.

The Norwegian internet firm said Virginia-based RetrivalWare, which specialises in internet search platforms, has strong relationships with the US government market.

The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.

Fast also announced three new deals, coming on the back of two which were announced last week.

As part of its acquisition of RetrivalWare, Fast said it has signed a deal with Convera for the deployment of its FAST AdMomentum software.

The firm also said it had agreed a deal with Australia's RailCorp, for its Fast Enterprise Search Platform.

The third deal is with German investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort, for the deployment of its Fast Intranet Search software.

All three deals are based on software license, maintenance fees, and other professional services.
