Bombardier wins 150 mln eur contract for metro cars from Shanghai |

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Bombardier Inc said a consortium in which it is involved has won a 150 mln eur contract to supply metro cars to Shanghai in China.The Canadian train maker and its joint venture partners in China said they would provide 192 Movia metro cars, or 32 six-car trains, to Shanghai Mass Transit Line 7 Development Co., a subsidiary of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co.Bombardier's partners include Changchun Bombardier Railway Vehicles Company Ltd (CBRC) and Bombardier CPC Propulsion System Co Ltd (BCP).Bombardier's share of the contract amounts to some 51 mln eur. Deliveries are due to begin in the second quarter of 2008 with completion in 2009.The new metro cars will be assembled in China at CBRC plants in Changchun.Propulsion equipment for the cars will be made at BCPs factory in Changzhou and Bombardier sites in Vasteras, Sweden.philip.waller@thomson.compaw/icCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
