OSLO (Thomson Financial) - Norwegian seismic energy explorer Wavefield Inseis ASA said it will charter a vessel from Russian company Sevmorneftegeofizika, expanding its fleet at a time of high demand, in a move that would benefit its 2008 performance.Wavefield chief financial officer Erik Hokholt would not reveal the contract with SMNG, Russia`s largest marine geophysical company, but said it would have some positive impact on his group's full-year bottom line for 2008.'It will have an impact. It won't be a significant impact but it will contribute on the revenue and the profit line,' he told Thomson Financial.Wavefield will charter the dual streamer vessel Akademik Shatskiy for a minimum of one year. The company will use the vessel to augment its own fleet of five vessels in order to meet the high demand in both the proprietary and multi-client markets, the company said. The vessels will be utilized for 2D surveys and as a source vessel for wide-azimuth projects.'We... are very pleased to have the Shatskiy as part of our fleet. It gives us even more flexibility to enable us to capture additional market share in some key market areas,' said Wavefield CEO Atle Jacobsen, CEO in a statement.patrick.mcloughlin@thomson.compm/salCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
