NATICK, Mass. (AP) - Medical device maker Boston Scientific Corp. said Tuesday that Japanese regulators approved its Taxus Express2 drug-coated stent.The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare approved the product, which Boston Scientific said it will launch after reimbursement approval is granted.Stents are wire mesh tubes used as scaffolding to keep open plaque-clogged arteries and drug-coated stents are intended to keep the artery from reclotting by thwarting tissue growth through the mesh.Shares of Boston Scientific gained 19 cents to $14.78 in premarket trading after closing Monday on the New York Stock Exchange at $14.59.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
