Bombardier wins 50 mln eur contract to assemble 100 locos for EMD |

LONDON (AFX) - Bombardier Inc has won an initial order worth approximately 50 mln eur to assemble 100 SD70ACe locomotives for Electro-Motive Diesel Inc (EMD).The contract involves the fabrication of sub-parts and the assembly of the locomotives at Bombardier Transportation's production facility in Sahagun, Mexico, Bombardier said.Since 1998, Bombardier's Sahagun facility has produced more than 1,100 locomotives for EMD, which has been owned by Greenbriar Equity LLC and Berkshire Partners LLC since 2005.Deliveries of the latest order are scheduled to begin by mid-June 2007 and continue to the end of the year, Bombardier said.paul.sandle@thomson.comps/jrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
