PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Electrical equipment maker Legrand swung into the black in the first quarter, reporting a net profit of 92.4 mln eur against a year-earlier loss of 35.3 mln.It confirmed its full year guidance.Operating profit was 169.4 mln eur, up 19.6 pct on the year, as the operating margin grew to 16.4 pct from 15.1 pct.Adjusted operating profit was 185.1 mln, up 13.2 pct, with the margin up to 17.9 pct from 17.4 pct.The company said it is have ry confident' of at least meeting its targets for 2007 in terms of sales growth and operating margin.In February, Legrand said it expected sales growth, excluding forex effects of 7-10 pct, with 4-5 pct organic sales growth, and wanted to maintain a 'high adjusted operating margin' compared to 2006, which stood at 16.5 pct.tfn.paris@thomson.commjs/jlwCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
