LONDON (AFX) - US buyout firm Apollo is planning a 950 mln stg bid for Countrywide PLC, the UK's biggest estate agent, according to the Sunday Times.The emergence of Apollo's interest comes just 10 days after rebel investors foiled a management buyout of the company backed by 3i Group PLC.The report says Apollo has been preparing its move for several weeks, held talks with Countrywide investors and been in conversation with the estate agent's board.Neither party was available for comment.newsdesk@afxnews.commsc/abrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
