PARIS (AFX) - Airbus has set a deadline of mid-July to reach agreements with partners for investing in its plants at Meaulte in France, Nordenham in Germany, and Filton in the UK, as part of the Power8 restructuring plan, a French union official said following a meeting of Airbus' European works council.Jean-François Knepper of the Force Ouvriere union said Airbus has hired two firms of auditors to evaluate the benefits of selling or spinning off the sites.'I got (Airbus CEO) Louis Gallois to say what he had already indicated: if there is no value added in selling or spinning off, we won't do it,' he added.Announcing the Power8 programme on Feb 28, Airbus parent company EADS had said it is considering 'industrial partnerships' for Meaulte, Nordenham and Filton, and had already received investment proposals from potential partners.paris@afxnews.comafp/gt/ambCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
