SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - General Dynamics Corp. said Monday the U.S. Navy has awarded the company's Electric Boat subsidiary a $148 million contract modification to continue Virginia-class submarine lead-yard services and engineering.The contract was initially awarded in October 2005 and will be worth $890million if all options are exercised and funded, the Falls Church, Va.-based defense firm said.
