BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China plans to create at least nine mln new jobs in urban areas this year while setting an urban jobless target of below 4.6 pct, the National Development and Reform Commission said.'Although the employment situation will present a fair amount of difficulties this year, with hard work coupled with sustained rapid economic growth and more results produced by government policies to promote employment, it will be possible for us to reach these two targets in urban areas,' the NDRC said in a statement.The state planner added that in order to formulate more accurate and realistic economic planning measures, all governments should set targets for local GDP growth at appropriate levels for local conditions.will.davies@xfn.com
