HSBC unit Hongkong and Shanghai Bank 2006 net profit 37.71 bln hkd,up 14.7 pct

HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - HSBC unit Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp reported

a net profit of 37.71 bln hkd for 2006, up 14.7 pct from 32.87 bln achieved in

the previous year, on the back of double digit growth in its commercial banking

and corporate investment banking and markets (CIBM) division.

Zurich Financial to list 500,000 new shares for employees share/options plans

ZURICH (AFX) - Zurich Financial said it plans to list 500,000 new registered

shares with a nominal value of 0.10 sfr per share out of contingent capital.

- Please disregard correction on Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp's FY

pretax profit carried at 0822 GMT. The original flash on wire at 0818 GMT giving

a pretax profit of 52.02 bln hkd for 2006 for the HSBC unit was correct. The

bank's Hong Kong operations alone posted a pretax profit of 37.98 bln hkd.

Amlin FY pretax profit up 84 pct

LONDON (AFX) - Amlin PLC, the Lloyd's insurer and reinsurer, said full-year

pretax profits rose to 342.7 mln stg from 186.7 mln in 2005, an increase of 84

pct, thanks to a low level of natural catastrophes and strong contribution from

its new Bermudan unit.

Jardine Lloyd FY adj pretax from cont ops rise 3.8 pct

LONDON (AFX) - Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLC posted a 3.8 pct rise in

full-year underlying profits from continuing operations and said with insurance

market conditions continuing to be challenging it sees modest revenue growth in

2007.
