NEW YORK (AP) - CDC Corp., a Chinese software and online gaming company, said Monday its games unit is expanding to develop online games, with funding of up to $100 million.The company's new CDC Games Studio will expand its online games developer partner program announced last August. That program had funding of up to $20 million, and it was focused on developing games for the Chinese market. The new studio will have a broader geographic scope.In addition to Gorilla Banana, a Korean game developer, CDC Games Studio will also work with Possibility Space, a developer of free-to-play online games, as a partner. One of its co-founders, Feng Zhu, has held positions at Lucas Films, Electronic Arts and Liquid Entertainment, and was a concept artist for the movie 'Star Wars: Episode III.'CDC's shares were down 43 cents, or 5 percent, to $8.26 in premarket trading, as markets fell sharply around the world.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
