BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China's business climate index for the first quarter reached 139.7, up 8.2 points from a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.The business climate index for state-owned enterprises stood at 137.5 and the index for private firms was at 131.2, both of which recorded gains year-on-year, said the Bureau, without providing comparative figures.Meanwhile, the index for foreign-invested firms stood at 142.3, the Bureau said.The index for large enterprises in the first quarter reached 162.7, up 13.3 points year-on-year, with small firms up 3.8 points from a year ago at 116.7.The index for the manufacturing firms rose 11.4 points from a year earlier to 139.3.jianbo.wu@xfn.com
