JAKARTA (Thomson Financial) - Flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia said it plans to buy 20 Airbus A320 aircraft worth a total 1.3billion US dollars to strengthen its fleet, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday, citing the airline's director Ari Sapari.'We are still negotiating with Airbus,' Sapari was quoted by the newspaper as saying. He said thepurchase plan has been approved by the government which owns the airline.Sapari expects the aircraft to be delivered in early 2009.Late last year, Garuda signed a contract to purchase 25 Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, which areexpected to be delivered in stages from May 2009 to February 2012.(1 US dollar = 9,391 rupiah)roffie.kurniawan@thomson.comhkp/msCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
