China B-shares end morning higher, taking a lead from A-shares-UPDATE |

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - China B-shares ended the morning session higher, tracking strong gains on A-share markets.Energy and machinery stocks helped push the Shanghai B-share index higher.The Shanghai B-share Index rose 3.98 points to 332.31 and the Shenzhen B-share Index was up 0.89 points at 738.92.'Investors were reassured by a big run in the A-share market in the morning,' a Shanghai analyst who asked not to be identified said.On the Shanghai market, Inner Mongolia Yitai Coal Co Ltd (SHB 900948) rose 0.890 usd to 12.588.Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Co Ltd (SHB 900947; SHA 600320) advanced 0.026 usd to 2.195.Huadian Energy Co Ltd (SHB 900937; SHA 600726) rose 0.007 usd to 0.713 after announcing an agreement to set up a joint venture with its parent, China Huadian Corp, along with three group companies.In Shenzhen, Anhui Gujing Distillery Co Ltd (SZB 200596; SZA 000596) jumped 1.08 hkd to 12.05.Chengde Dixian Textile Co Ltd (SZB 200160) rose 0.12 hkd to 2.58.The FTSE/Xinhua China B 35 Index was up 93.49 points at 11,215.55.The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended the morning up 90.43 points or 1.70 pct at 5,401.15, just off its new all-time high of 5,401.41.(1 usd = 7.54 yuan)lilian.wu@xfn.com-xfnlw/xfntmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
