(Adds details throughout)LONDON (AFX) - 3i Group PLC plans to float its investment fund, 3i Infrastructure Ltd, on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in a 700 mln-1.3 bln stg initial public offering.3i Infrastructure intends to invest in entities owning infrastructure businesses and assets. It will acquire an initial portfolio of UK infrastructure investments from 3i Group for an undisclosed sum.3i Group intends to invest 325 mln stg directly in the investment company at the offer price as part of the offering, subject to a minimum of 700 mln stg being raised in the offering.The offering is set to close during the first half of March 2007'The launch of a dedicated infrastructure investment company is a natural progression for 3i which has been investing in infrastructure for the past 20 years,' said Michael Queen, managing partner and head of infrastructure at 3i Investments.The investment company said 3i Investments PLC, a unit of 3i Group, will act as investment adviser.newsdesk@afxnews.comjcCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
