American Eagle to apply for NYSE listing

WARRENDALE, Pa. (AFX) - Teen apparel retailer American Eagle Outfitters Inc. said Tuesday it has been cleared to apply for listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

If approved, the company will begin trading under the symbol 'AEO' on March 8. Until then, American Eagle will continue to trade under the symbol 'AEOS' on the Nasdaq.

Shares fell 3 cents to $16.37 during morning trading on the Nasdaq.
