DENVER (AP) - Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc. said late Thursday that March traffic at its Frontier Airlines subsidiary rose 11.5 percent.Frontier Airlines' March traffic increased to 821.3 million revenue passenger miles from 736.8 revenue passenger miles during the same period a year earlier. A revenue passenger mile is equal to one paying passenger flown one mile.Capacity rose 17.9 percent to 1.07 billion available seat miles from 906.2 million available seat miles in the year-ago period. Load factor, or occupancy, fell to 76.8 percent from 81.3 percent.For the quarter ended March 31 traffic rose 11 percent to 2.09 billion revenue passenger miles, while capacity increased 14.7 percent to 2.94 billion available seat miles and load factor fell to 71.1 percent from 73.5 percent.Fiscal year-to-date, Frontier Airlines traffic rose 14.7 percent to 8.53 billion revenue passenger miles, while capacity increased 14.4 percent to 11.31 billion available seat miles and load factor rose to 75.4 percent from 75.2 percent.Shares of Frontier Airlines rose 3 cents to close at $6 on the Nasdaq Stock Market.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
