Toyota Motor China joint venture to set up 2nd plant this month - report

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co Ltd plans to start building its second plant this month, with completion estimated at the third quarter of 2008, China Business News reported, citing a company source.

The first plant, with current capacity of 120,000 units is also expected to be upgraded to 300,000 units soon, the report added.

The two plants give Toyota's southern China joint venture the potential for combined capacity of 500,000 units, it added.
