AMSTERDAM (AFX) - Royal KPN NV has decided in response to a threat of legal action from the Dutch consumer watchdog Consumentenbond to offer customers who have complained about the quality of internet telefony services two months worth of free phone calls to landlines in the Netherlands. The Dutch telecoms group also said the offer is in addition to compensation it will offer to individual customers, stressing that customers will not pay for the service until it works. The Consumentenbond issued KPN a threat of legal action earlier this week on revelations that 5 pct of the 500,000 homes which had internet telefony services installed last year had registered complaints about the service.aaron.gray-block@thomson.comagb/lamCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
