Teleperformance buy of Carphone Warehouse ops cleared by EU

BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - The European Commission said it has cleared French call centre group Teleperformance SA's buy of The Phone House Services Telecom (TPHST).

The deal was examined under the EU's 'simplified' merger review procedure; cases which the commission believes do not pose competition concerns.

THPST is controlled by The Phone House SAS, the French unit of the UK's Carphone Warehouse Group, which will retain joint control of the group.
