TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The value of industrial machinery orders placed with Japanese companies dropped 19.2 pct from a year earlier to 531.7 bln yen in December, the first decline in three months, according to a survey by the Japan Society of Industrial Machinery Manufacturers (JSIM).In November, orders for industrial machinery climbed 9.4 pct from a year ago.The survey was conducted among 202 member-companies of the JSIM, including manufacturers of boilers and turbines, chemical machinery, plastic processing machinery, carrying implements and metal processing machinery.Orders from the domestic market reached 331.3 bln yen, up 28.6 pct year-on-year, and orders from abroad amounted to 200.45 bln yen in December, off 49.9 pct.For the whole of 2006, the value of industrial machinery orders totaled 6.185 trln yen, up 3.2 pct from the previous year.(1 usd = 120.90 yen)kaori.kaneko@xfn.comkk/mas
