LONDON (AFX) - Doctors have given the all-clear to a worker tested for the potentially deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu on a British farm hit by the virus, the second negative test there. The farm worker was given tests yesterday as a precautionary measure after complaining of a respiratory disease, following the outbreak last week at the farm in Suffolk, east of London. The Health Protection Agency, which is in overall charge of monitoring the disease, said the test results had returned negative overnight. On Tuesday, a vet involved in the operation to cull nearly 160,000 turkeys was put in a hospital isolation unit after suffering mild respiratory problems, but was allowed to go home yesterday after being given the H5N1 all-clear.AFPnewsdesk@afxnews.comafp/ambCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
