BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Honda Motor (China) Investment Co Ltd said its wholly-owned subsidiary Honda Auto-parts Manufacturing Co Ltd, which is located in the southern province of Guangdong, has officially started operations, producing 240,000 gear-boxes annually.The new factory is a supplier to Honda's three car joint ventures in China -- Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co Ltd, Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co Ltd and export automobile producer Honda Automobile (China) Co Ltd -- which have a combined annual capacity of 530,000 cars.These joint venture companies sold 352,551 vehicles in China in 2006, up 32 pct from a year earlier.derek.jiang@xinhuafinance.com
