TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Moody's Investors Service has raised its long-term credit ratings for all of Japan's ten electric power suppliers to 'Aa3' to reflect the country's economic recovery, as well as their improved competitiveness in pricing, the ratings agency said.'The rating actions reflect Moody's expectation that the business environment for Japanese utilities will be favorable and stable over the intermediate term, both with regard to the competitive environment as well as to the political and regulatory platform,' Moody's said in a report.Electricity sales are expected to stay solid over the medium-term thanks to the steady economic recovery, while the suppliers' cost-cutting efforts are likely to help them maintain cost competitiveness, Moody's said.Previously, Moody's assigned 'Aa3' ratings to Chubu Electric Power, Kansai Electric Power, Okinawa Electric Power and Tokyo Electric Power.It gave 'A1' ratings to Chugoku Electric Power, Hokkaido Electric Power, Hokuriku Electric Power, Kyushu Electric Power, Shikoku Electric Power and Tohoku Electric Power.yumiko.nishitani@xfn.com
