Australia's Paladin says director killed in Malawi air crash |

SYDNEY (XFN-ASIA) - A director of the Australian mining firm Paladin Resources was killed alongside his South African pilot when their light aircraft crashed in central Malawi, the company has announced.Garnet Halliday, Paladin's executive general manager for operations and development, died with the pilot in the accident close to the administrative capital of Lilongwe, a statement said.'There were no other persons on this aircraft,' the statement added.A police spokesman at the scene of the crash had earlier said that eight engineers as well as the pilot were believed to have been on board the plane at the time of the accident.afp/km
