Navy boosts 5 deals for sensor systems |

WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. Navy said Monday it awarded five companies multimillion-dollar contract boosts to develop sensor systems and equipment.The contract boost will increase the maximum value possible for each deal to $200 million.Mount Laurel, N.J.-based L-3 Communications Titan Corp. will receive $96.1 million; Alexandria, Va.-based RBC Inc. was awarded $111 million; Warminster, Pa.-based Sabre Systems Inc. snared $117.2 million; Warminster, Pa.-based Navmar Applied Sciences Corp. got $113.2 million, and Rockville, Md.-based BAE Systems Applied Technologies Inc. is in line to receive $117.9 million.The Navy said 80 percent of the work will be performed at contractor facilities, while 20 percent will be completed at Patuxent, Md.-based Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.Shares of L-3 Communications fell 18 cents to $93.61 in extended trading, after shares rose $1.31 to end the regular trading session at $93.79.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
