PITTSBURGH (AP) - Drug maker Mylan Laboratories Inc. said Friday it received final Food and Drug Administration approval to market its 150 mg doxycycline tablets, the generic version of Par Pharmaceutical's Adoxa antibiotic.Adoxa is marketed by Doak Dermatologics, a subsidiary of Bradley Pharmaceuticals Inc. Doxycycline is used to treat a number of infections, including those of the sinuses, ear and respiratory tract. Doxycycline tablets had U.S. sales of about $34 million for the 12 months ended March 31 for the 150 mg strength.The company said it would ship the tablets immediately. Mylan is already marketing 50 mg, 75 mg and 100 mg strengths of the tablets.Mylan shares fell 20 cents to close earlier at $18.80.Copyright 2007 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
