Postbank may launch up to 1.5 bln eur mortgage-backed covered bond tomorrow

FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Deutsche Postbank AG may launch its first mortgage-backed covered bond with a maximum emission volume of 1.5 bln eur as early as tomorrow, Marcus Chromik, head of Postbank's emissions and and syndicate operations, told daily Boersen-Zeitung.

'We were literally asked by investors to issue the bond as early as possible in the year to jointly open the market with other high quality emitters,' Chromik said.

He expects Postbank to issue two mortgage 'jumbo' bonds of up to 1 bln eur per year from now on.
