BASEL (Thomson Financial) - Pharmasset Inc said it has successfully evaluated two oral dose levels of R7128 in combination with Roche Holding AG's Pegasys (pegylated interferon) plus Copegus (ribavirin) in a four-week clinical Phase I study.R7128 is being developed by the US company in cooperation with Switzerland's Roche for treatment of chronic Hepatitis-C type 1.Potent antiviral activity was demonstrated in the four week trial while all safety laboratory values and adverse events were within the range expected for the standard of care, Pharmaset said.andrew.ge.thompson@thomson.comat/jlcCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
