Nova Chemicals Chairman to step down

PITTSBURGH (AFX) - Nova Chemicals Corp. said Thursday Chairman J.E. 'Ted' Newall will step down on April 12, as planned.

Newall has been chairman of Nova Chemicals since 1998. Replacing him will be Director James M. Stanford. He will take the position pending his re-election to the board.

The company also said Chief Operating Officer Chris Pappas will join its board, effective immediately.

Nova Chemicals shares rose 9 cents to close at $31.05 on the New York Stock Exchange.
