SARAJEVO (AFX) - Bosnia's parliament approved a new government on Friday, more than four months after general elections in the former Yugoslav republic. The government, headed by Nikola Spiric of the Union of Independent Social-Democrats (SNSD), was backed by 31 deputies in the 42-seat parliament, while nine MPs voted against it and one abstained. The approved ministers come from five political parties that won most votes in the October 1 general elections, including unlikely partners with opposing views on Bosnia's future. The minister of defence, the last in the ten-member cabinet, is yet to be approved as the candidate for the post due to technicalities, and is only expected to get approval in April.newsdesk@afxnews.comafp/ambCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
