REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. (AFX) - Software maker Oracle Corp. said Friday it reached a patent-sharing agreement with Teilhard Technologies after the companies resolved lawsuits in two U.S. federal courts over the use of data-sharing technology.The settlement also includes a cash payment to Calgary, Alberta-based Teilhard, though the companies did not disclose details.The cross-licensing agreement involves multiple patents for technology that is used to share data among various systems that support different formats. The companies also said they would continue to discuss possible joint technical and sales opportunities.Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Oracle brought the case against Teilhard in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the District of Columbia regarding a patent owned by the Canadian software developer.Shares of Oracle gained 14 cents to $16.85 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
