CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AFX) - Sapient Corp., a business consulting and technology services company, said Friday that a Nasdaq council has stayed its delisting, pending further review. The Nasdaq Listing and Hearing Review Council granted the stay after Sapient asked to review a Nasdaq panel's earlier decision related to the required deadline for filing delayed financial results for the second and third quarters. The company released preliminary third-quarter figures last month. It has delayed releasing final results because it is currently investigating past stock option grants and will need to restate some prior results. Chief Executive Jerry Greenberg resigned in October amid the probe.A date has not been set for the council review.Sapient has until March 2 to submit additional information in writing to the council.Shares of Sapient fell 9 cents to $6.11 in midday trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
