BASF increases annual capacity for tetrahydrofuran at Ludwigshafen site

LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany (Thomson Financial) - BASF AG said it is increasing its annual capacity for tetrahydrofuran (THF) by 30,000 metric tonnes at its site in Ludwigshafen to meet growing demand for THF in the pharmaceutical industry.

This puts BASF's global annual THF capacity at 210,000 metric tonnes from the end of 2007, the company said.
