China's Wen says aggressive measures needed for energy saving, global warming |

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Premier Wen Jiabao believes China needs more aggressive measures on energy-saving, greenhosue gas emissions and climate change, according to a statement published on the central government's website (www.gov.cn).Wen said the country is struggling to meet energy efficiency goals and the government should fully grasp the urgency of the task.'The work is a test of the government's accountability and also the responsibility China should bear to the international community,' Wen said.The government needs to carry out policy studies on climate change, as well as acting to curb energy consumption and emissions causing global warming, he added.zachary.wei@xfn.com-xfnzw/xfntmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
