LONDON (Thomson Financial) - A natural gas pipeline in the Mexican state of Veracruz was attacked by saboteurs today, according to the state-owned oil company Pemex.Multiple explosive devices were detonated along its route, forcing Pemex to shut down parts of the gas pipeline network and evacuate people nearby, due to fires.'We detected a loss of pressure at six different points in a gas pipeline in the state of Veracruz caused by pre-meditated acts. We immediately suspended pumping natural gas on these lines,' Pemex said in a statement.Veracruz governor Fidel Herrera said no group had claimed responsibility for the blasts, but police were now investigating.d.sheppard@thomson.comds1/slmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
