KUALA LUMPUR (XFN-ASIA) - Aberdeen Asset Management Asia Ltd has invested 3 bln usd in Malaysian equities out of 30 bln usd available for Asia, reflecting the improved investment climate in the country, The Sun reported.Investment manager for Asian equities Christopher Wong said: 'As of now, Aberdeen has used up all of its fund allocation for Malaysia.'The report said Aberdeen, which manages up to 137 bln usd worldwide, has an official allocation of 6 pct of Asian funds for Malaysia. It did not say why the allocation appears to have hit 10 pct with the 3 bln usd investment.India has a portfolio allocation of 12-13 pct of Asian funds, while China, including Hong Kong, makes up 10-11 pct, according to the report.Among the stocks it has invested in are British-American Tobacco Co Bhd, Malaysia Oxygen Bhd, Public Bank Bhd and Bumiputera Commerce Holdings Bhd.(1 usd = 3.51 rgt)john.tan@xinhuafinance.com
